Alyssa's Thoughts
This CD had some interesting surprises on it. For one, I can't believe Chris didn't put War's "Low Rider" on this CD! I was also surprised that Chris had never heard Gary Numan's "Cars" before, what with him being a big 80s music fan and all.
I think The Cars "Drive" and the Muppet's "Movin' Right Along" were rather clever inclusions on my part, if I do say so myself.
By the way, the Beatles "Drive My Car" is probably one of my least favorite Beatles songs for some reason. It just doesn't do it for me. That being said, a Beatles song that I don't really care for is still a decent song in my book.
So... "Mr. Blue Sky" is on the CD because it's the soundtrack to my favorite VW car commercial: Bubble Boy. I love that commercial soooo much! And "Everybody Hurts" is an obvious choice if you've seen the music video for it.
One last note: Chris doesn't think that songs about motorcycles ("Born to Be Wild" and "Little Honda") should have been included on this CD. I think that's crazy.
P.S. I really liked Loudon Wainwright's "Road Ode" which Chris put on his CD. It has brilliant lyrics! What a great find!
